Looking after your mental health is just as important as looking after your physical health. At Coomera Town Medical Centre, we provide caring, confidential psychology and counselling support to help you work through life’s challenges, conveniently located inside Westfield Coomera.
Whether you are dealing with stress, anxiety, low mood or a difficult life change, our psychology service offers a safe, non-judgemental space to talk and to develop practical strategies. We are here to support your wellbeing at your own pace.
Many people experience times when life feels overwhelming, and reaching out for support is a positive and courageous step. Our psychology service provides a confidential environment where you can talk openly and work with a professional to better understand what you are experiencing and how to move forward.
A psychologist uses evidence-based approaches to help you understand your thoughts, feelings and behaviours, and to build practical strategies for managing them. Therapy can help with a wide range of concerns, from everyday stress to more persistent difficulties. The focus is on supporting you to feel more in control and to develop tools you can use in daily life.

If you are experiencing mental health concerns, your GP may prepare a Mental Health Care Plan. This is a plan your doctor creates to support your mental health, and for eligible patients it can provide access to a number of Medicare-subsidised psychology sessions each calendar year.
You can book an appointment with one of our GPs to discuss whether a Mental Health Care Plan is right for you. Your doctor will explain how it works and what support you may be able to access.
Your first session is a chance to talk about what has brought you in and what you would like support with. There is no pressure to share more than you feel ready to. Your psychologist will listen, ask some questions to understand your situation, and work with you to agree on goals and a way forward. Many people feel more at ease once they have taken this first step.
